Supervalu subsidiary Jewel-Osco, a near 200-unit retail outlet operating primarily in Illinois, was scheduled to begin stocking Ocean Beauty's Sea Choice branded entree line this week, Tom Sunderland, director of marketing for Ocean Beauty, told IntraFish.

The microwaveable entree products, which use wild salmon and rockfish and farmed tilapia, use all-natural ingredients that look to tap into growing interest in ethnic flavors such as cajun and baja.

The line, packed at Ocean Beauty's Seattle plant, required significant investment in both equipment and R&D, and mark a shift in thinking at the company, Sunderland said.
