The board of Ocea Group, the second-largest supplier of cage, feed and information technology to the aquaculture sector, farmed salmon in particular, announced it is in talks with buyers for the acquisition of the group, or a potential merger.
The company has enlisted PWC as an advisor for the sale, and already talks are underway with potential buyers in Norway and abroad, according to Chairman Dag Sorsdahl.
"We are in the early stages of a process. There is quite a lot of interest for the company," said Sorsdahl.
