Tomboy is the fourth largest shrimp feed company in Vietnam and has "one of the best country-wide distribution networks," Nutreco said in a statement.

The group was established in 2001 by three foreign investors, Offer Katz, Franck Bodin and Yuval Gattegno, who later owned an equal share of the group.

Employing around 300 people, Tomboy started off with shrimp feed and recently started producing feed for marine and fresh water species such as tilapia, barramundi, snapper and grouper.

The company has two plants near Ho Chi Min City and in the Long An Province and had annual revenues of €18 million ($22 million) in 2009, according to Nutreco.
