Norwegian salmon farmer Nova Sea, in which Marine Harvest holds a 48 percent stake, posted margins of NOK 20 (€2.15/$2.45) per kilo in the first quarter on 7,220 metric tons of production.
In the same quarter last year, the company turned in margins of NOK 16 (€1.72/$1.96) per kilogram, on a harvest of 6,938 metric tons.
Nova Sea posted NOK 200 million (€21.4 million/$24.5 million) in sales in the first quarter.
