More than one in five fresh fish sold to French households is salmon, said the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), with increasingly more new households buying the fish.

The lower price of salmon when compared to other meat and fish proteins is one reason for the boost in sales.

October and November are the months where supermarkets pull out all the stops to offer customers a veritable seafood banquet at favorable prices. NSC has contributed with in-store activities this autumn.
