Nothing seems to be stopping the growth of Norwegian salmon prices: Next week prices are predicted to spike. The reason? A continuing shortage in supply, as Norwegian market insiders told IntraFish.
"The fish are small and slaughter volumes are low also this week," one exporter said. The predictions for the upcoming week are:
2-3 kilogram -- NOK 37 (€4.90/$6.50) to NOK 38 (€5.10/$6.70)
3-4 kilogram -- NOK 40 (€5.30/$70) to NOK 42 (€5.60/$7.40)
4-5 kilogram -- NOK 41 (€5.50/$7.20) to NOK 43 (€5.80/$7.50)
5-6 kilogram -- NOK 42 (€5.60/$7.40)
