Norwegian salmon prices going through the roof for large fish

A fairly big price increase is expected for Norwegian salmon prices going into next week, in particular for the larger sizes, industry players told IntraFish Friday.

One exporter said prices were about NOK 41 (€4.60/$5.20) for sizes 3-4 kg; around NOK 44 (€4.90/$5.50) for sizes 4-5 kg; NOK 46 (€5.20/$5.80) to NOK 47 (€5.30/$5.90) for sizes 5-6 kg, and NOK 48 (€5.40/$6) for salmon bigger than 6 kg.

“Some have even proposed NOK 50 (€5.60/$6.30), so it seems like there are sky-high expectations out there,” the exporter told IntraFish.
