Salmon traders say they are amazed prices were unmoved, given such large volumes being sent to the market.
Prices were identical in southern and northern Norway.
Fish weighing between two and three kilograms were fetching NOK 21 to NOK 22 (€2.62-€2.74/$3.83-$4.01), while three- to four-kilo and four- to five-kilo salmon were being traded for NOK 24 (€2.99/$4.38) and slightly lower.
Salmon scaling five to six kilos were going for between NOK20 andNOK 20.50 (€2.49-€2.55/$3.65-$3.74).
“It is unbelievable that prices are at a stable level when you see the amount of volume that is being sent out of the country and that the logistics are functioning so well,” a Norwegian west coast trader said.
