Better salmon prices and less disease incidents boosted Erko Seafood's revenue by a staggering 63 percent to NOK 435.3 million (€51.5 million/$70.1 million) last year, up from NOK 266.8 million (€31.6 million/$43 million) the previous year.
The western Norwegian firm has 10 fish production licenses in the counties of Hordaland and Sogn and Fjordane. Operating profit ended up at NOK 141.4 million (€16.7 million/$22.8 million) last year as opposed to minus NOK 7.9 million (€934,712/$1.3 million) the previous year.
The difference is mainly due to high prices throughout 2013, and less challenges with disease, the board of directors wrote in its annual report.
