Norwegian salmon made a clean sweep in a recent Japanese consumer survey by the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).

The test was carried out with a broad, composite panel of 400 survey respondents in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo. A Japanese analysis bureau conducted the test on behalf of the NSC. The test considered color, freshness, fat content and how "delicate" the salmon was perceived to be.

Norwegian salmon won on all counts in the test both before and after sampling. More than seven of 10 Japanese consumers regard Norwegian salmon as delicate, or highly delicate.
