Norwegian group Mosterfarm and Aga Halibut are launching a new pilot project to trial halibut farming in closed containment systems.
The project is planned to be up and running by mid- to late-2015.
“We've been busy developing the project for the past eighteen months," said Mosterfarm Managing Director Kristoffer Ersland. “It’s a pilot project, and much has to fit into place before we put fish there.”
Innovation Norway, among others, have provided funding for the project, but Ersland would not elaborate on details of the project’s cost.
