Norwegian fisheries group Ervik Havfisk is planning on expanding the footprint of its fleet to serve growing demand for its fish.

Owner Stig Ervik confirmed with IntraFish Media website FiskeribladetFiskaren the firm is constructing two new longliners, one to harvest groundfish in northern Norway and the other toothfish in the south.

The company is looking for a tender at the moment and plans to make the decision by May.

The company has only built three new auto longliners since 2001 and the two oldest vessels in its fleet were built in 1980.
