A Norwegian delegation signed an agreement with Lim Shrimp Organization (LSO) last week to construct a land-based Atlantic cod and salmon farm site in China.
The companies, which include Norwegian group Futurama and recirculation aquaculture systems provider AquaOptima, are now working on a business plan for a farming project, Idar Schei, CEO at AquaOptima, told IntraFish.
The site, dubbed Aquapolis, will integrate a land-based demonstration farm from egg to market size and a multiple of grow-out units, from fingerlings to market size, each to be operated by separate families or "aquapreneurs."
