Norwegian farms struggle with ISA

There are currently seven farms in Norway with confirmed outbreaks of ISA, with four more sites suspected of the disease. Here's IntraFish’s comprehensive list.

Near Troms, Norway:

• Confirmed in May 2008 at SalMar-owned Senja Sjofarm’s site.

• Confirmed in February 2008 in smolt released at Straumen Habruk, in Gratangen – the second confirmed outbreak in three months. Beset by problems, producer Morten Berg has said he is considering selling the company.

• Suspected at Gratanglaks, in Gratangen. The farm is now empty, awaiting final confirmation of its ISA status.
