Volume is up 16.4 percent compared with last year, according to figures released by the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC).
So far this year 4,673 metric tons of fresh salmon fillets and 2,190 metric tons of frozen salmon fillets were produced in Norway.
The average price is also better this year than that achieved last year. So far this year, fresh fillet is fetching NOK 46.47 (€5.32/$6.71) per kilo, as opposed to NOK 44.74 (€5.12/$6.46) last year.
Frozen fillet is fetching NOK 65.14
