The Norwegian Seafood Council’s (NSC) latest overview of exports of fresh Norwegian salmon revealed the biggest importers are buying more than last year.
In fact, it's not until we reach number 19 on the list of Norway's largest fresh salmon buyers that we find a country -- Vietnam -- that has purchased less fresh Norwegian salmon this year than at the same time last year.
Topping the list, as usual, are Poland and France.
So far this year Poland imported 11,852 metric tons of fresh salmon, compared with 10,062 metric tons during the period time last year.
