Up to week 41 in 2008, exports of fresh trout with head, frozen trout with head and other frozen trout, including headless, totaled 54,537 metric tons.
The corresponding figure this year is 44,198 metric tons; a reduction of 10,339 metric tons, according to figures from the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC)
Export of fresh trout with head is on about the same level as last year, 29,443 metric tons this year as opposed to 30,856 metric tons last year.
For frozen trout with head the downturn is more marked, from 6,359 metric tons last year to 3,329 metric tons this year
Volumes of other frozen trout there are also down, from 17,322 metric tons last year to 11,517 metric tons this year.
