After new estimates for slaughter volumes were presented at the Nordea and Norwegian Seafood Council’s (NSC) marine farming conference in Oslo on Nov. 21, a debate has raged among the seafood industry.
As a result of the uncertainty, the Norwegian Seafood Federation's (FHL's) production forum reexamined the expected 12 percent drop in volume from 2012 to 2013.
“We are adjusting the 2012 volume to some extent, as a result of reduced slaughter weight in the second half of the year," said Edmund Broback, head of FHL’s production forum, in a statement.
