In an interview with IntraFish, Reidun Lilleholt of the Norwegian research firm Akvaforsk said the formula puts Norway on an equal par with Europe and Chile.
“Recently, fish producers have via IntraFish been asking for facts concerning sustainable feed production, and have called for debate on what exactly is the aquaculture industry’s responsibility in this respect. Akvaforsk is keen to lead the debate along on a more constructive track, on how meat producers can obtain the broadest possible basis for raw materials so that we gain the freedom to choose raw materials that have the best prices at any given time and are plentiful in supply,” Lilleholt said.
