Figures from the Norwegian Seafood Federation’s (FHL) statistics publication Akvafakta show Russia is the biggest market for Norwegian trout.
During the first two months of 2009, Russia had a share of 51 percent of the export volume, an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period last year, when 44 percent of Norwegian export volume was dispatched to Russia.
The figures show the percentage of trout sent to the 27 European Union member states so far this year is 8 percent.
