Norway Seafoods sold its two processing factories in France as their performance did not live up to the expectations of increased synergies through the value chain, the company's CEO told IntraFish.
"We acquired a company in France in 2007 with the aim to expand the value chain of whitefish into pre-packed products, aimed at retailers," said Thomas Farstad, CEO of Norway Seafoods.
"But we have not been able to realize the synergies and achieve that aim. We therefore decided to divest those French assets and concentrate on strengthening the home base."
