Price-wise, week 14 was yet another strong one for Norwegian salmon producers.
Fresh salmon sold at NOK 30.04 (€3.40/$4.49) per kilo, down NOK 0.05 (€0.01/$0.01) from the previous week. In the same week last year, the price per kilo was NOK 26.39 (€2.99/$3.95).
The high price did not appear to deter salmon-hungry European salmon buyers from sending in many orders.
In total, 17,727 metric tons of salmon, round weight, were dispatched from Norway, almost 5,000 metric tons more than for the corresponding week last year, when 12,866 metric tons were exported.
