The Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry is considering increasing its stake in Norwegian salmon producer Cermaq from 43.54 percent to 65 percent, it said in a stock exchange release.

In a "Dutch reverse auction" the ministry intends to purchase up to 10.75 million shares in Cermaq, corresponding to about 11.6 percent of the total outstanding shares.

It has invited all shareholders to bid for the sale of all or part of their stake. The auction starts Thursday, June 20 at 9am CET and is kept open until Monday, June 24, 4.30pm
