He objected to Norwegian criticism of Icelandic claims to a share of the North Atlantic mackerel fishery.
“What Norway says the Icelanders are now doing with mackerel, they [Norway] are doing themselves with horse mackerel. This is a stock that occasionally extends into Norwegian waters, and while the EU has had catch restrictions on horse mackerel for many years, in Norway this was unrestricted,” he said.
