So far this year, only 13 new cases of pancreas disease (PD) have been reported in the Norwegian salmon farming sector, compared to 34 at the same time last year, reported the Norwegian Veterinary Institute (NVI)
Six of the cases have been confirmed and seven are suspected. No new instances were notified from Norwegian farm sites in April.
In April last year, the disease had been confirmed at four locations. In the first four months of 2012, 34 instances were reported, divided into 28 confirmed cases and six suspected cases.
