It may only have a population of 4 million, but Norway is a world powerhouse in seafood.
Writing up the 2011 Top 40 European Seafood Companies report -- which has taken up a lot of mine and Eva Tallaksen’s time over the past few weeks -- has really brought home Norway’s dominance in seafood supply.
This has been accentuated in 2010 and 2011, as prices for salmon and whitefish have been strong.
The numbers speak for themselves. If you include Morpol -- which has its holding company in Norway and is listed on the Oslo stock exchange – there are ten Norwegian companies on the list.
