The story of Med bass and bream production and consumption is oft repeated: a quality product susceptible to vicious price fluctuations and a struggling Southern European market, it's traditional mainstay.

Increased exports to Russia and northern Europe, however, makes Turkish bass and bream producer Camli hopeful about the long term prospects for its business.

"The consumption in Mediterranean countries is still high, but the sales to the UK, Germany and Russia is promising," Gokçen Coklar, from the marketing department of Camli, told IntraFish.
