The North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission met May 20-22 and decided to move forward with southern flounder and sheepshead management. The commission chose six potential management proposals to include in a draft supplement to the Southern Flounder Fishery Management Plan.
This management plan will go out for public review from June 10 to July 10 and include a public meeting as well. Details are to be announced and after the public input period, the commission will decide on the preferred options in its August meeting.
