Sales into the European sushi market doubled since 2005. He predicts further expansion, an executive at Danish frozen seafood trader Nordic Seafood -- which accounts for around half of the annual turnover of the European arm of Japan’s Nippon Suisan Kaisha (Nissui) -- told IntraFish.

“It’s one of the segments that we’re seeing the biggest future in; we foresee growth for many years to come,” said Sales Director Lars Olsen.

Nordic Seafood’s lines include a range of seafood for sushi, and customers include individual restaurants, chains and industrial-scale retail producers.
