Two fishmeal giants, Danish fishmeal and oil processing corporation TripleNine and Norwegian company Koppernæs, joined forces to form the largest Nordic group in the fishmeal and oil business, following a recommendation by the boards of both to go ahead with the proposed merger.

The new company, which is expected to have a DKK 3 billion (€402.2 million/$519.3 million) turnover, will trade under the name TripleNine and be headquartered in Esbjerg, Denmark. Both companies will own a 50 percent share in the cooperation.
