The updated lists in the shareholder register of Oslo Stock Exchange VPS Arena show during the last two weeks VPF Nordea Capital has purchased more than 160,000 shares in Morpol.

With this move, the fund passed Kverva as the third largest shareholder in Morpol, after Marine Harvest and the Skagen Vekst fund, and now holds 1.7 percent of all shares.

In total, Skagen Vekst, Kverva and various Nordea funds control more than 10.5 percent of all the shares in Morpol.

These three shareholders block Marine Harvest from exceeding 90 percent, which would enable the group to compel other existing shareholders to redeem their shares.

At the North Atlantic Seafood Forum earlier in March, Alf-Helge Aarskog, CEO at Marine Harvest, said the company is not in a position to engage further in Morpol just now and would not be upping its offer.
