A report will be put together and released later this year, and one area of emphasis will be on developing alternative feed sources, said MIchael Rubino, head of NOAA's aquaculture program.
"The white paper will outline a road map that will be some specific things USDA [U.S. Department of Agricutlure] is doing, some specific things NOAA is doing," Rubino told IntraFish last week at the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) meeting in California.
"NOAA's already working on use of fish processing waste, especially trimmings from Alaska.
