The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries division on Monday announced it will start the process of filling two non-NOAA commissioner seats for the International Pacific Halibut Commission.

Terms for two current commissioners, Donald Lane, who is filling the Alaska resident seat, and Robert Alverson, holding the non-resident of Alaska seafood, will expire at the end of 2015.

The two commissioners are eligible for re-appointment.

Of the three US commissioners, one must be an official of NOAA -- currently held by NOAA Fisheries Alaska Regional Administrator James Balsiger, who is also a voting member of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council.
