In the course of this year, Norwegian company Grieg Seafood will slaughter its last trout ever. Cutting out trout farming is seen as a necessary measure to meet the challenges the company faces in regard to the Russian market.

“We were warned in August that Russian authorities would be finding lead in our fish, and that’s exactly what they found a week later,” said Morten Vike, CEO at Grieg, at the presentation of the company’s quarterly figures on Friday -- not without cynicism.

Last
