The decision means that No Catch -- the bankrupt Shetland, Scotland-based cod farmer -- will be able to sell its most valuable remaining asset.

Villa Cod Farm said the sale would be complete and the fish transported within six weeks.

Villa cried foul after the initial ruling was handed down forbidding the deal, saying that cod and other juveniles is often transported great distances within Norway, and even from other countries.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs agreed with them.

“The regulations do not differentiate between one species and another,” Fisheries Ministry Director Yngve Torgersen told IntraFish.
