Japanese giant Nippon Suisan Kaisha (Nissui) reported a loss in its 2013 fiscal year, as a global slowdown took its toll on all the company's divisions.
Nissui's consolidated results showed a JPY4.8 million loss ($50 million/€38.8 million) on higher sales of JPY566.9 billion ($5.96 billion/€4.62 billion), a 5.4 percent gain.
Several of the group's operations under-performed.
The company's fisheries operations saw poor harvesting in South America, and less operating days in Chile.
