Japanese seafood group Nippon Suisan Kaisha (Nissui) has appointed Norio Hosomi as executive president and representative director.

Also appointed in a new role is Kunihiko Koike, who will move from being managing executive officer to become senior managing executive officer, or managing director.

Hosomi is replacing Naoya Kakizoe and will begin in June, when the shakeup is due to be officially determined at the annual shareholder and board meetings.

Kakizoe will continue to serve in an advisory role, a source with the company told IntraFish.

Hosomi joined Nissui in 1973.
