In a Jan. 12 letter to Meredith Artley, CNN's managing editor, NFI asks: "We ask that you remove this column from your web site and address our concerns with sourcing, oversight and the journalistic integrity of CNN.com that is posed by this example."
The seafood trade association is the latest group to criticize Dr. Melnia Jampolis for her remarks, which were posted last week on the CNN Web site.
Asked to explain the nutritional differences between wild and farmed salmon, Jampolis in her response quoted the Environmental Working Group, which said: "Nearly all salmon Americans eat are farm-raised -- grown in dense-packed pens near ocean shores, fed fish meal that can be polluted with toxic PCB chemicals, awash in excrement flushed out to sea and infused with antibiotics to combat unsanitary conditions.
