Norwegian company Skarungen AS has sold its practically new 83 meter pelagic vessel Malene S to owners in Iceland, in a bid to raise funds to buy more quota.
Skarungen's owner Malene Skar confirmed to Fishing News, that the new ship has been sold to Síldarvinnslan in Iceland.
She also confirmed that selling the new vessel, built in Turkey and delivered just over a year ago, was the plan from the outset as the deal releases capital that Skarungen can use to buy more quotas.
