Russia may implement a ban on salmon from Norway beginning in Janaury, Aleksej Alekseenko, director at veterinary service Rosselkhoznadzor, told Bloomberg News in Oslo.
A decision on a ban or other measures will be taken in the next few weeks, he said.
This comes after Russian veterinary authorities were inspecting Norwegian marine farms in December, and after some Norwegian producers allegedly refused admission to some facilities and plant.
Russian inspectors were said to have been "both reasonably satisfied and reasonably dissatisfied" after their inspections.
