Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture practices will take another step forward next week when members of Sea Pact, a recently formed sustainable seafood coalition, announce the inaugural recipients of the group’s grant money.
Sea Pact members, Albion Fisheries, Fortune Fish & Gourmet, Ipswich Shellfish Group, Santa Monica Seafood, Seacore Seafood and Seattle Fish Co., will meet Thursday and Friday in Chicago, to review the 42 applications and decide which project or projects could benefit most from the group’s help, according to Logan Kock, board member and vice president of Santa Monica Seafood in California.
