The NOS price, which is the purchasing price on salmon paid by Norwegian exporters to Norwegian producers, will beginning in April be replaced by Nasdaq Salmon Index, which is the exporters’ sales price in Oslo. Additionally all companies with an export license -- not just independent exporters -- can now report in to the index.
Test reporting for the new index was carried out from week 29 last year up to and including week 13 this year. A panel consisting of 10 companies, both independent exporters and integrated companies with export licenses, carried out the reporting.
