Figures from the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) show 154 metric tons of gutted, headless farmed cod were exported from Norway in week 5. In comparison, 124 metric tons were exported in the corresponding week in 2008.
The average price for farmed cod in week 5 was NOK 27.35 ($4.03/€3.12) per kilo, a drop of NOK 1.49 ($0.22/€0.17) per kilo compared with week 4. The average price for last year’s week 5 was NOK 32.19 ($4.74/€3.68) per kilo.
Exports of wild cod ended up at 344 metric tons at an average kilo price of NOK 25.68
