Faroese pelagic giant Vardin is to see its new processing factory for human consumption, named 'Vardin Pelagic,' open doors on July 2, the company CFO told IntraFish.
"It will start slowly; and have a run-in period of a few weeks before producing in full capacity" Torhedin Jensen, Vardin’s chief financial officer, said in a phone interview.
"The factory has the capacity of scaling up to 600 metric tons to 1,000 metric tons a day."
It is expected that the factory, based in Tvoroyri and employing 50 staff members, will be able to process up to 600 metric tons by August this year, Jensen said.
