Chile's Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture has developed (SUBPESCA) a "Map Viewer,” that allows access to information on the location of salmon farms in the country, in order to modernize the processes associated with geographic information systems (GIS) in this sector.
The display provides access to geographical information on aquaculture concessions, management and exploitation areas for benthic resources, marine coastal areas of peoples, fishing coves and marine protected areas.
The application can be accessed from any computer with an Internet browser without the need for special software.
