The Purse Seine Vessel Owners Association (PSVOA), which is the client for the Marine Stewardship Council recertification of Alaska salmon, said Friday Hoonah Cold Storage has joined the client group.
Hoonah Cold Storage, based in Hoonah, Alaska, is a direct buyer and processor of Alaska salmon and other seafood products, the PSVOA said.
Last month Copper River Seafoods withdrew from the client group, after the draft recertification report recommended the Prince William Sound salmon fishery remains under assessment pending further analysis of an ongoing study of Prince William Sound and Southeast hatchery operations.
