The new system, implemented through WASI’s Certification Program, is the latest tool to help market wild, sea-caught shrimp and to distinguish U.S. wild shrimp from imports, WASI spokeswoman Jenny Schmitt told IntraFish.

The new inspection process will not cost more money to suppliers, Schmitt said.
