Dutch-based global certification services provider Control Union announced on Wednesday it acquired a minority shareholding in MacAlister Elliott & Partners Ltd (MEP) and ME Certification Ltd (MEC) to enhance its presence in fisheries and aquaculture certification.
To be signed officially at next week’s Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, the agreement sets up Control Union to acquire full shareholding within five years. The management team at MEP/MEC will remain unchanged and stay based in Lymington, England.
Control Union is a certification program for agriculture, food, feed, forest products, textiles and bio energy.
