Netuno USA announced it supports the Honduras spiny lobster trap fishery improvement project (FIP), and so far this year it contributed $24,756.11 (82,2188.90).

Netuno has 26 percent share of the value chain.

This FIP entered the re-assessment for Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification in 2012, but consultant group MRAG “didn't imagine that its implementation would be so challenging and complex,” said Netuno.

Challenges included lack of data; shared stock with Nicaragua; illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; and lack of an adequate management framework legislation.
