Kerry Coughlin, regional director of the Marine Stewardship Council's (MSC) Americas division, publicly announced on Friday she would be stepping down from her role.

Coughlin will leave her position at the end of November, but will continue to work with the MSC on a consulting basis, the MSC said in a statement.

“It has been a privilege to work with MSC and our many partners," Coughlin said in the statement. "The MSC program has experienced tremendous growth during my tenure and I expect will continue to expand in importance as a vital global link for members of the industry and marine conservation community seeking to ensure sustainability of the world’s seafood resources.”
